my niece and nephew both have january birthdays, so i've been busy making cards...

Gill and Dan got married last June and I finally handed over their wedding present drawing a couple of weeks ago, it's been living under my sofa. Anyway it's jumbled up, tangled tape of their favourite songs: Rock And Roll - Velvet Underground and Take Yo Praise - Camille Yarbrough

the last lot of diaries: 1996 - 1998

1998 - these are so old Gill and I could hardly remember who'd done them...there's quite a change from the ones I make now...I'm much happier with my drawing these days. On this one there's bit of city lights book store - commemorating our trip to san francisco

1997 - mmm moody!

1996 - I love the chip eating woman, I might draw her and see what happens (she's bound to get a few extra chins, as does everyone I draw)!

these two are favourites of mine, made by Gill for me - I'm so impressed that she has time these days with Billy (and Dan) to look after!

more diaries - 2004 to 1999

this bundle of diaries show my collage period (!) and also signs of age...

2004 - this one was good at the time but now it's a little bit creased!

2002 - (don't know what happened to 2003) I'm liking the envelope - might try and use it in something new

2001 - this is probably my favourite ever...and features my light blue typewriter (with the dodgy ribbon) that seems to live at Baileys homestore these days...sigh!

2000 - this one hasn't aged well - poor thing

1999 - the little photos are from the days of photobooths that used to take 4 different photos and not give you the chance to change your mind

2009 - 2005

2009 - this reminds me I still have to do a huge music print...there are plans afoot!

2008 - this was clearly the beginning of my not pretty office block phase

2007 - meeeeeeow - ah the big cat diary

2006 - one of my favourites...mostly because there's a bit of overheard conversation on the spine "I just need to locate my diary" - perfect, thanks busy businessman

2005 - Hmm I'd just started my MA and must have been a bit busy...perhaps not my best one ever!

dear diary 2010

since 1996 my friend Gill and I have been exchanging diaries with handmade covers...this week poor Gill struggled through the snow with a weighty bag full of all the diaries I've made for her...so starting with the latest 2010 edition here they are...(well kind of as I can only upload 5 images at a time and they're taking AGES!)

this one features embossed trees and houses (now there's a surprise)!

lost in a forest

voila...some dodgy photos of my first embossed tree/buildings/gold leaf leaves picture...i'll attempt better photos later. I can't quite work out if it's finished...any advice will be greatly recieved!
