posh christmas cards

printed my christmas cards at the weekend, it's a posh polar bear, adding to my very small collection of posh creatures. Now I've just got to finish folding them all. I'm sure to have a few left over once I've posted mine to friends and family - so if you want to purchase one get in touch. Together, I'm sure we can find a way!

ready for folding (nb. coffee at the ready!)

finished (well I'm about half way through the pile)

I took my bag out for a spin today and very much enjoyed it - despite the bitter chill (got my coat to keep me toasty)!

christmas at found

the 'rock'n'roll christmas' project was finally revealed at Found last thursday - Nik and Olivia have made a great looking display which involved painting three layers of white paint on cassettes. It was a fun evening of very posh Bertinet mince pies and mulled cider (I wasn't sure about this as I'm such a fan of the mulling of the wine but it turned out to be delicious...and pretty potent). The highlight for me was a lady of fashion loving my new coat! Pictures of that, bags and prints in the next few days. Buy them here... http://foundbath.bigcartel.com/products please!

voila - plates!

sneaky peak

just a quick sneaky peak of John et Yoko on the drying rack (more drying rack shots.....I know I'm getting a bit repetitive but I like the piles of the same image)...anyway as I was saying, a sneaky peak... I was going to show the proper/actual prints but I'm getting them framed and they are to be revealed at Found (a rather snazzy boutique/stationery store in Bath www.foundbath.co.uk , they sell great stationery and the best stripey tops and fluffy wool black dresses and basically I want everything) next thursday...which may well make for more glamorous photos than my usual scrappy numbers.

woaaaaaah - paper cuts

the last few days have been a frenzy of cutting up card and paper for embossing and the semi secret ceramic project I'm working on (to be revealed pretty damn soon-ish)...

if you happen to have eagle eyes you can just about pick out the embossed bit at the bottom of here. The embossed prints should be finished at the weekend. Yay!

boxes of delight

last saturday I printed 100 boxes for New House Textiles - the plan is that if one buys three of my rather delightful tea towels (if I do say so myself) one will receive them packaged in a handprinted box - how marvellous and what a lovely christmas gift it would make for ones chums. The scheme isn't up and running yet (possibly as they're tucked away in a bigger box at the print studio) but I'll announce it when it happens, it's bound to be mentioned on their website (newhousetextiles.co.uk) too. whooooooo

alternative uses for tea towels 1

here we have my friend Melanie's cat, Oscar, looking a little cross at being woken up from a mouse-filled-dream snooze on his freshly laundered Charlotte Farmer tea towel (it is a tester tea towel but he's still a lucky blighter to have such a luxury blanket)

croissant et le grande pants

little book and box-in-progress

ones blog posts feel a bit scrappy at the moment, I'm at the beginning of projects so have nothing finished to show, but there are exciting things to come...I'm definitely going to pursue the mulitlingual miaowing cats, maybe I'll try some dry point etching...hmmm...but not just yet.

anyway until I spend the weekend printing here's a little book I just got from Howies featuring 2 drawings I did a couple of years ago that they've finally used (but not the ones I did over the summer - who knows where they'll turn up)...

...and here's a box-in-progress which I'm planning to print for New House Textiles...it will be limited edition and available when someone orders a few tea towels at christmas (it's a-coming)! More details on how to get one soon.

(once again apologies for the messy desk - one day I'll live somewhere with lovely floorboards and my photos will be more glamorous).

miau maiou meu - ideas

meeeeeeow - I'm inspired by the new Ikea advert, with all the cats, I wonder if they really did let them lose in a store at night or if it's camera trickery...I hope it's not...

I've got lots of cat drawings that have been waiting for a home, so what you see here is the start of an idea. The Thai version of meow meow has to be said in a high pitched manner apparently

and here is a sneaky peak at another project I'm working on...more details in a month or so...shhhhhh it's a bit hush hush-ish

bonjour

I've been en vacances in france, while we were there I saw this shed planted on top of an old mill, which gives me ideas for some photocopying fun...as mentioned in my notebook! I transferred more drawings onto a nice stripey mug before the trip too. ooh. yeah!

before viewing the following...please excuse the state of my desk!!

'Tugs to the rescue'

'Paaaaaarp!'

Paaaaarp! - has a bit of embossed detail that you can't really see unless it's well lit, or sunny (some chance), sometimes I wonder why I bother...

'Around the world in 20 snowglobes with Elvis in a gold suit)'

Tree Houses

(thanks to Pat for modelling)!

scribbles are the sea

more pictures from the drying rack...this time I've been unleashing my inner Robert Motherwell and scribbling...scribbles are the sea in my ships in embossed bottles print. It's been fun overlapping layers of colour, ahhhh the joys of screenprinting.

here's a close up...

I almost preferred it when it was just the sea...

and finally...this is how I should be travelling to spike island!!

finished it - whoo hoo!!

hurrah - after another print-athon weekend I've finally finished the snowglobe print - "around the world in 20 snowglobes (with elvis in a gold suit)"...thought I'd keep the title nice and short!!

this is my favourite bit, though I have managed to take a picture of the only one where Mr Kong doesn't have fluorescent orange eyes (all the better to see you with).

next will be the embossed ships in bottles print...it all starts here
