voila...some dodgy photos of my first embossed tree/buildings/gold leaf leaves picture...i'll attempt better photos later. I can't quite work out if it's finished...any advice will be greatly recieved!
I've been busy busy making christmas cards - now available to buy at Melanie Giles Hairdressing on Walcot street in Bath, or if not get in touch and arrangements can be made!
The blue tit features a blue foil quiff and gold leaf tummy and he's perkily perched on an embossed twig. He's packaged in a blue envelope.
while the robin has a glittery red breast and a gold tummy, he too has landed on an embossed twig. All this, in a red envelope for a mere £3!!
I believe I may have mentioned that I've been cutting out trees for some embossing...well here they are in the wild, complete with wildlife (check out the cheeky little owl)!
uh-oh, I've been incredibly rubbish with my blog recently - poor thing...still I have been busy making tickets for the "sunday school" make up lessons at Melanie Giles Hairdressing...and cutting out tree and twig shapes for some embossing fun - coming soon! (promise)
today I have mostly been printing moths...on handmade (not by me) paper...and to think I've spent a lot of time recently swatting at all the moths that have been munching on my cardigans!
I found this scan of the cat power cd cover I made for maddy ages ago - I seem to have gone speech bubble crazy recently...and I have plans for more. I ran past a cat on the canal the other morning and it gave me such a snooty "what do you think you're doing disturbing me" look - cats are great (officially).
I just had to take this photo the other day - sunny flat, typewriter AND bunny lamp - what a winning combination!
jeeeeeeepers - it's been far too long since my last post...anyway...(ahem)...I've been working on some ideas for an up and coming little business called Log Cabin
mixed up smudgy carbon paper drawing of houses and very fancy log cabins I'm hoping one day these dawn chorus birds might make it on to a t-shirt
I printed these little feathery friends today - something I've had planned for a while, they're to use as props on a photoshoot but they also make NICE cards (if I do say so myself).
wenttovisitthestationerytidyIprintedontoday-it'sgoodtoseeitbeingwellandtrulyused!...andnowits time for details (cue 'Take Heart' gallery style music)...
my second year project at St Martins was about business men chatting about just how constantly busy they are...and it heralds the beginning of my photocopy obsession, I do like a bit of lo-fi technology.
these two were part of my final show and called 'I don't go to work to make friends'...based on a phone conversation I happened to overhear on the train home one evening. They're pretty big images, each section is A3, which is why it's hard to see much in this teeny tiny format.
'At the end of the day' - annoying phrase but check out the lovely surface quality!
tin tabernacle - there's an amazing book by Ian Smith with loads of the stripey gems. This label was one of many hanging up in the cafe at Baileys.
one of my first attempts at a photocopy transfer on wood...turned out nice, one day there'll be a huge papery print of houses like this, took lots of photos the other day, I was a little worried someone might shout at me for taking sneaky shots of their house...
buildings printed on handmade tissue (the light ones are printed on the reverse)
some slightly older boat drawings...there will be more, I have some oil tankers lined up, along with some lovely Staten Island ferries complete with the statue of liberty.
there is a bigger version of this with more boats and much more sea, I overheard someone say that the person who spent all that time doing dotted lines for the sea must be crazy...not true!
