what happened in may?

I've been neglecting my blog for far too long and I feel bad about it...so it's time for a bit of a re-vamp, coming soon (promise)!

(I went to Spain in may by the way and I also ate quite a few chocolate digestives, listened to Laura Marling and had lots of not very fun work to do).

boats and mountains

more ceramic experiments

(I'm particularly enjoying the moomin display tray)!

I've re-joined Spike Island printmakers - hurrah...then last week I was too busy to go - boo...but here's a sneaky peek at my first screen print in a while, it was a commission for a wedding anniversary.

ooh it's been a while

oops...march was not a good month for blogging, but a good time for experimenting with plates (and moving house - which also doubles as my excuse for being so rubbish)...anyway I'm pretty excited by my first attempt at plate decorating - now all I need is a few nice cups and saucers.

busy busy catch up...t-shirts et tea towels

the Log Cabin project is taking off, the first lot of t-shirts have been printed...and I'm working on some nice mothy labels. They'll be available to buy on-line soon. Yipeee! I've also been working on some tea towel ideas for New House Textiles, which has involved lots of research into biscuits, cakes and fancy teabags (tough job but someone has to)...I've really enjoyed drawing some of the souvenir spoons with people on them - they make me laugh when I'm drawing, lucky there's no one around!

classic biscuits

tea bags....I really like this one, any excuse for a bit of crazy detail - but I'm not sure if it will go ahead.

spoons

happy valentines day (very belated!)

mmmmmmm cake, sweets and sparklers - it tasted pretty good too!

museum of boats

'museum of boats'

I finally finished this boats in embossed museum domes drawing the other week - it's another thing thats been lurking under my sofa. I love the floor at the science museum that has cabinet upon cabinet of model boats... I also picked up my first boat drawing from Spike Island - I'd forgotten how big it was, I can understand the girl I overheard while the work was up say "whoever did this must be insane" or words to that effect!

'I just want to be your tugboat captain'

close up of the sea - check out the crazy detail...if it's not too out of focus.
