painting at MGHQ

I've painted some XXL signs (using a paint colour called radicchio!) for Melanie Giles Hairdressing http://melanie-giles.co.uk It's not often I get my big brushes out but I really enjoyed doing this so they may well get another outing pretty soon

While I was there with my brushes I wrote these too...I could learn a lot from Melanie's organisational ideas, I can never find all the things I need for car MOT- ing and everything else in life that needs paperwork.

Not only is she super organised Mel also has a great blog http://happiestinhunters.blogspot.co.uk

shelf of dogs

I recently paid a visit to the Victoria Art Gallery in Bath as Lucy Auge bought the amazing shelf of dogs to my attention - thanks Lucy http://lucyauge.blogspot.co.uk

It's giving me print ideas, well I've wanted to make a print with barking ceramic dogs, mewing cats and tweeting birds for ages but my 'Loving you is easy....' print http://www.charlotte-farmer.co.uk/personal/index.shtml?slide=17 has never been that popular.

So should I do it?

I like these little boxes too especially the one with the head on it. hmmmm

and the lucky winner is...

Margo was too tired after a tough day of playing with plastic lids so I had to use a random number generator to pick the winner of the 'Do You Feel Lucky?' print...and it was number 9, which means the lucky winner is...(trumpets, drum roll etc) Nik Ibberson

So Nik email me your address and I'll prepare to face the grumpy lady at my local post office!
 (So tired...)

thanks/online crit anyone?

I've started the print and A was the overwhelming choice - which is good as it was sneakily my favourite from the start.

Thanks so very much to everyone who left comments about the Lucky print...it was great to hear so much positive feedback about my work and I really loved the comments about why you liked one or the other version...it's been like having an online crit...though much less scary than the ones at St Martins which occasionally reduced some of us to tears (I miss them though *sigh*).

I think it would be really useful to develop some kind of online crit thing for those of us working home alone most of the time - anyone up for it?

I must admit that when I got to this layer I was liking how clean it looked and wondering about option B...

But I did carry on with the next layer and Margo will be picking the winner at some point this weekend and I'll reveal who it is on wednesday...so until then keep your fingers crossed.

help me and win (if you're lucky)

I've been working on two versions of my first (in what may be a mini series) Lucky Charms print and now I'm not sure which one to go for...so I thought I'd see what y'all think - version A or B...It's simple: Leave a comment, choosing A or B and then I'll get Margo to pick a name out of a hat and the lucky winner will receive a print (not sure exactly when the printing will happen  but I want to do it soon so comment ASAP please - closing date for comments: 11th feb)

A

B

(NB. these aren't the colours I'll use, there will no doubt be gold and probably silver too)
